Christen Sawyer is a 20 year old singer/songwriter from Sugar Land, Texas. She began taking voice lessons from vocal coach Jeannie Bryant at 12 years old and has been working on her music career ever since. In summer of 2008 she recorded her first demo CD of three songs. One of these songs was Crazy, an upbeat tune written by she and producer Mark Oliverius.
Not long after recording, Christen teamed up with Gerrie McDowell of Gerrieco Texas and released Crazy to Texas Radio. The song climbed to #20 on the Texas Music Charts and #16 on the Texas Regional Radio Report! The CD even caught the eye of Nashvilles premiere music critic Bob Oermann of Music Row Magazine, who gave Christen the Discovery Award. It opened a tremendous number of doors and gave me the opportunity to open for some of my favorite artists! These artists include Mike Eli (of the Eli Young Band), Stoney LaRue, Robert Earl Keen, No Justice, Django Walker, Rich OToole, and more. She currently plays acoustic shows around Texas, and has no plans to stop anytime soon!
This summer with a half year of radio touring experience under her belt, a newfound love of guitar, and plenty of make-ups and break-ups, Christen has recorded four brand new original songs and is ready to do it all over again.
